In order to use the add-on, you need to:
Install it from the Google Workspace Marketplace™,
Generate an API token in your Pennylane™ account and note it carefully,
Create a new spreadsheet in your Google Drive™.
Open the spreadsheet you created, and select the menu entry Extensions > Pennylane data import > Configure...
In the dialog box that opens, select the tab "Import" and:
Enter your API token,
Enter the start and end dates for the period you would like to import (by default, the current year),
For now, do not select a periodic import, as it's better to first do a manual import.
Then go on the "Tables" tab and select the tables you would like to import. You can click on the "i" icons to see the Pennylane documentation of each table. For a starter, I recommeding all tabs except those from the last section ("Reports") because they are redundant with other information and their import is more fragile.
Select the menu entry Extensions > Pennylane data import > Full import
This will run the full data import now. Once this is done, you can walk through the different sheets of the spreadsheet to get a sense of the imported data.
If it works well, you can go back to the configuration dialog and setup a daily import.
You can now use all the tables that are availabe in the spreadsheet to make computations, graphs, etc. If you would like to see a simple example, you can make a copy of this spreadsheet and configure it to import data from your Pennylane account. Once data is imported, you should see some nice graphs.
If you would like the data in your spreadsheet to automatically refresh, you can visit again the "Import" tab of the "Configure" dialog (see above.) You can select a full daily import, and optionally a hourly incremental import.
The incremental import updates tables that have changelogs in the Pennylane API. It is an experimental feature.
What about data privacy? Do you have access to my Pennylane API token or my API data?
The Pennylane API token is stored in a property of your spreadsheet. Only the users with who the spreadsheet is shared can access this property. The Add-on code is run on behalf of your Google user. Hence, the author of the Add-on does not have any kind of access to your Pennylane account.
Is the add-on verified by Google?
Before publication on the Google Workspace Marketplace, Google does perform some review of the Add-on. However, Google does not grant any guarantee on the Add-on.
